Stephen Ross, Managing Partner

Stephen has had a successful and progressive career in providing global and national supply chain management vision, technology, change management, process and leadership. A rare breadth and depth of supply chain expertise from global end-to-end strategies, transformation and technology, accomplishing a proven track record of success with all aspects of supply chain regardless of the industry, maturity of the organizations or geographical location.

Stephen’s career began in manufacturing, working for industry leaders such as Westinghouse, GE and Honeywell, where he was given the opportunity to develop his skills in manufacturing fundamentals. He had roles focused on manufacturing, material planning and forecasting. This led to North American corporate opportunities in designing and implementing SAP ERP supply chain solutions. During Stephen’s career he project-managed SAP and Oracle ERP supply chain implementations for Westinghouse, GE, MDS Pharma and Tetra Pak. While at Tetra Pak, Stephen project-managed Tetra Pak’s first world-wide SAP customer ordering portal.

While at Honeywell, Stephen project-managed the implementation of Kinaxis, a supplier collaboration portal allowing him the opportunity to coach and mentor the Kinaxis sales team in Tokyo.

Stephen’s career has also focused on international opportunities with MDS Pharma and Barrick Gold. The focus of his roles here were to create unified global supply chain strategies and execution for organizations that were being managed as separate, disparate business units with culture, border and regulatory issues and challenges. His successful projects included centralized data governance, African inventory optimization, South American demand planning and forecasting.

Stephen has been offering his supply chain expertise for the past seven years to his diverse client base in manufacturing, mining, pharmaceutical and the cannabis clients. He provides evaluations of the current state of their supply chain and data governance organizations. His evaluations include key stakeholder relationships including suppliers, customers, operations and maintenance. This evaluation leads to a Supply Chain Roadmap to allow his clients to remain competitive in the future.

Robin possesses diverse experience managing large-scale business projects and complex sourcing operations for some of the world’s leading companies, with demonstrated skills to help you meet the challenges of today’s company-wide procurement and sourcing operation endeavors.

In her previous senior leadership positions, she consistently lead her teams to exceed goals and expectations through a variety of reporting, performance, process re-engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives, including:

  • Leading the selection, implementation, and compliance for new strategic sourcing technology platforms, including vendor selection, system configurations, process development and engineering, policy development, team creation and training, and attaining stakeholder buy-in, compliance, and advocacy.
  • Creating and leading Indirect Procurement “Centers of Excellence” integrating continuous improvement, World Class benchmarking, and the development and management of Sourcing Operations, Contract Management, Vendor Management, and Risk Management Programs.
  • Leading corporate-side, procurement transformation initiatives, including centralizing buying activities of indirect goods and services, and creating Central Buying Teams, resulting in the ability to leverage buying activities, vendor relationships, contracts, and spend across the organization.
  • Leading complex, cross-commodity initiatives and RF(x) processes, performing strong and successful negotiations resulting in innovative terms and conditions, implementing corporate change management and compliance, resulting in significant cost reductions, improved process controls, and improved supplier performance

Michelle Balke, Managing Partner

Michelle is a senior leader who works together with organizations in the development, negotiation and management of complex, high-value commercial agreements, outsourcing and information technology agreements including SAP and cloud. She has more than 20 years working in both public and private sectors including healthcare, IT, retail and aerospace industries. She held senior leadership positions with a proven ability to lead with focus on governance, risk and compliance programs implementing continuous process improvements and initiatives to effectively manage and mitigate risks throughout the organization. Throughout her career, Michelle has built a reputation as a calculated risk-taker in organizations including Plexxus, Loblaw, NexInnovations, Atomic Energy, Orenda Aerospace and COM DEV.

Michelle is an effective communicator and builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. But what makes Michelle successful is her drive, strategic thinking and decision making in implementing the best commercial and contracting approaches that best fit business requirements to achieve an organizational goal. Michelle’s exposure to various industries allows her to apply her extensive knowledge in commercial issues, contracts and RFPs to optimize a company’s position and mitigate any liabilities including protecting the company’s intellectual property.

Michelle has successfully lead CSAE3416 regulatory audits for IT solutions such as SAP and Allscripts, including analyzing, redesigning and implementing standardized processes/corrective action plans to rectify control weaknesses. Through risk-based audits and assessments, Michelle’s goal is to collaborate with all stakeholders to identify gaps and opportunities for improving the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of processes to mitigate risks and to achieve a strong risk posture. Michelle’s experience extends to developing business continuity programs including business impact assessments, plans and mock tests as well as establishing privacy and security programs to ensure compliance throughout the organization.
